The Stanford Family Band have announced new EP ‘Go Again’ with sunshine-pop single ‘When Lonesome’
Brighton quartet play Bristol Sounds, Wanderlust and more this summer.
Sunshine pop outfit The Stanford Family Band have announced their second EP, with 'Go Again' arriving on 17th July through Krautpop Records. To mark the announcement, they've also unveiled lead single 'When Lonesome'.
Hailing from Brighton, the quartet's new single nods to the likes of Queen and Todd Rundgren. Drummer Laurence Underwood explained: "I think at the time I was listening to a lot of Tommy James and the Shondells, also a lot of Carpenters, and I thought the piano break in the verses was a pretty Carpenters thing to do. I then realised that the start sounded like 'You're My Best Friend' by Queen which made me laugh. A boy could only dream of those pipes."
Produced by Harry Hayes of Spotted Horses - who also co-writes throughout - 'Go Again' will see a number of festival appearances this summer, at Bristol Sounds, Wanderlust, Deadfest and showcases at The Alternative Escape.
The line-up consists of Elliot Stanford on vocals, guitar, keyboard and bass; Laurence Underwood on drums, keys and vocals; Harry Hayes on guitar, drums, bass and vocals; and Patrick Corcoran on guitar, vocals and bass.
